Pu in the Studio

Anyone who has met our family knows how much I love my Maine Coon, named Pu.

But you may not know just how much she supervises my work.
I spend long hours in the studio when I’m working on a book, but I’m NEVER lonely.

And of course Pu will be in my next book!
Here are a couple of preliminary sketches for Pennies with Pu’s contribution.

    Hi Lita,

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed 1,000 Tracings. The story and the illustrations made for a winning combination. It truly is a heart-warming story, and a wonderful way to connect today’s kids with a time in history with which they are probably unfamiliar.

Oh, and I too am a children’s author, and I also have an office staff of critters–much like your cat–who assist me each day (whether I want their help or not.) 2 cats, Henry & Herman, and a puppy, Holly. I loved your pictures of your kitty.

Thanks again for 1,000 Tracings and best wishes for its continued success as well as your new book.
